Covid-19 Clients Procedure – tonika health

With evolving and changing rules and restrictions, it’s sometimes hard to know what’s going on! We’re clarifying our Covid-19 clients procedure for you based on the information given to us by our professional associations.

With the current restrictions in place in the greater Sydney region, those seeking allied health services such as those provided at tonika health (acupuncture and therapeutic massage), are considered necessary care.

This has been reiterated by the majority of our clients who are still wishing to attend their appointments during times when government restrictions are in place as essential components of their personal health care plans.

However, we understand that some of our clients may not be in proximity to our practice due to staying at home during times of restricted travel (if they usually visit us during or after work whilst in the area). We also understand if some of our clients are required to isolate themselves after coming into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or if they are reluctant to attend appointments during times of increased government restrictions. In these cases, we are happy to reschedule your appointment.

Of course, our usual COVID safe procedures are in place as always, which you can read in detail below.

If you are experiencing even mild symptoms; have been to a hotspot; or have been in potential contact with close contact or COVID-19 case within the past 14 days, please email us at info@tonikahealth.com.au immediately; so that we can reschedule your appointment after a 14 day period and negative COVID-19 test result. If you’re unsure whether to come in for an appointment or not, please email us so that we can discuss it with you.

Our current Covid-19 Clients Procedures

We’re still open and available for appointments and are following incredibly strict cleaning and disinfecting procedures. As always, your health is the most important thing to us.

Our current clinic procedures are:

  • Upon entering the practice, clients will receive a thermal scan with TGA approved non-contact thermometer to rule out the possibility of fever (a potential symptom of cold/flu/Covid-19).
  • Ensuring that anyone who enters our clinic, including patients and staff, thoroughly wash their hands or disinfect upon arrival.
  • Ensuring that anyone who enters our clinic check in (and check out) via the QR code.
  • Ensuring that masks are worn by practitioners during treatments and also in common areas of the practice.
  • Masks are required to be worn by clients during their time in the practice. This refers to common areas, such as the reception area, hallway or bathroom. Masks are also to be worn in treatment rooms and during treatments, unless the client is face down (where breathing may be obstructed) or requiring procedures (acupuncture etc.) on the facial area.
  • Maintaining 1.5m distance between people, with the exception of during a treatment itself (e.g. whilst in the reception area)
  • Using clinical grade disinfectant after every patient and for any surface clients or staff touch – including massage beds, seats, desks, door handles, benches and more
  • Requesting that any clients who are experiencing even mild cold or flu-like symptoms; have been to a hotspot; or who have been in potential contact with a close contact or COVID-19 case within the past 14 days call or email us immediately; so that we can reschedule their appointment after a 14 day period and negative COVID-19 test result.
